CCDG coverage

This year, our historical (in size) FPO division is getting some extra special attention.  Central Coast Disc Golf, one of the most popular disc golf channels on Youtube, will be sending a crew to cover our pro women.  They will choose one card to cover in round 1, then cover the lead card in round 2 and the DT9.  The only unknown at this point is when the coverage will be posted (it will not be immediate).

This coverage is being made possible by some generous sponsors.  If you’d like to help sponsor the coverage or the event in general, please use the contact page to get in touch.

Dragon’s Tail Nine Changes

Due to the way registration shook out this year, we’re making an adjustment to the Dragon’s Tail Nine final round this year.  Instead of the top 9 MPO players qualifying for this nine hole round, it will be the top 6 MPO players and the top 3 FPO.

PDGA guidelines dictate that cut lines have to be at or above the cash line, and technically a final 9 is a cut.  With only 12 in MPO at the moment, that means having 9 of them make the DT9 forces us to pay out 75% of the field.  Rather than do that, we’ll cut them to 50% of their field and take advantage of our record-breaking FPO field by adding them into the fun for the first time. Our previous high for participation in FPO was four players so we couldn’t really form a full DT9 card without paying more than the top 50% of the field.  Now we can do that and we will do that.

There’s more potential news regarding the FPO division, but we’ll save that until details are worked out.

More sponsors!

Just got off the phone with Tim at Hawk’s Next Disc Golf in Ayer Massachusetts. Tim started his disc golf days playing at Dragan Field and now that he’s in the disc golf business for himself, he’s giving back to his old stomping grounds with a generous sponsorship of DDGC19: all amateur players will receive a Hawk’s Nest stamped disc in their player packages.  This in addition to the usual DDGC stamped disc and a DDGC tee shirt courtesy of Latitude 64.  Thank you to Tim and Hawk’s Nest Disc Golf for the support.

Also, back for year number two as a sponsor is Zanfel.  Zanfel, the safe and effective topical solution for poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac, will be providing some of their excellent product for CTP prizes as well as informational pamphlets for player packages.

2019 Title Sponsor!

We are excited to announce that Latitude 64 is on board as the title sponsor for DDGC19.   As a part of the sponsorship, every entrant (pro and am) will receive a tournament shirt in their player’s pack.  This marks the completion of the Trilogy Trifecta when it comes to title sponsoring the DDGC.  In 2016, it was Westside Discs.  In 2018, it was Dynamic Discs.  Now Latitude 64.

As if there weren’t enough reasons to be involved in the Dragan Disc Golf Classic, Latitude 64’s support is making it even more important to get signed up ASAP.  Set a reminder, bookmark the link now.  Registration opens on February 1 at 8am, and as always, it is expected to fill very quickly.

Title Sponsor!

We are happy and proud to have Dynamic Discs on board as the title sponsor for DDGC18.  Dynamic has supported our event in one capacity or another for the last four years, but they’re stepping it up for 2018.  As a part of the sponsorship, every entrant (pro and am) will receive a tournament shirt in their player’s pack.

As if there wasn’t enough reason to get signed up as soon as registration opens, Dynamic Discs is making it even more imperative.  Set a reminder, bookmark the link now.  Registration opens on February 1 at 8am, and it will fill quickly.
