Registration update, day 11

The pace has slowed down enough with registration that daily updates are clearly unnecessary.  The current count is 70 players in the tournament, one reserved spot remaining for either MPO or FPO, and one spot held for the winner of the DF spring league.  The wait list is at nine players as of this posting.

Beyond registration, there are some big things in the hopper.  Nothing that can be announced yet, but good things are on the horizon for the event.  Everyone who is in will be glad they got in, and everyone who didn’t will be wishing they were.  Stay tuned.

Registration update, day 5

What a mad rush of a day. 18 more registrations which fills all the non-reserved places in the field.  65 total players are now registered for DDGC16, leaving just six spots available for MPO or FPO.  The wait list has begun…and already has three names on it as of this posting.

Word of advice for those signing up for the wait list, especially those that get on early: be prepared to get in.  Last year, six players eventually got in from the wait list.  With double the time between the field filling and the day of the event, there’s sure to be more drop-outs than that this year.

Another thing to consider, wait list or not, is to sign up and play Double Dragons in the morning.  It will put you right on the scene should there be late drops or no-shows, and when it comes to that, we skip wait listers who aren’t at the  course on tournament day.

Registration update, day 4 (wait list details)

Another rush of registrations yesterday pushed our total to 47 as of this posting.  That leaves just 17 spots available to any division as well as 7 spots reserved exclusively for MPO or FPO players and our final spot is reserved for the annual Dragan Field spring league champion (league starts in March).

A note about the twenty reserved places for MPO and FPO and how the wait list will work with regard to those places.  The twenty spots will continue to be held for those divisions through the posted deadline of May 21 even after the tournament fills.

  • If there is a withdrawal by a player within the 20 reserved places, the first available player on the wait list who is signed up for MPO or FPO will be added to the tournament.
  • If there is a withdrawal by a player outside of the 20 reserved places, the first player on the wait list, regardless of division, will be added to the tournament.

The above will be the policy through the May 21st deadline.  After May 21, the wait list will go exclusively to elevating the first person on the list regardless of division.

Registration update, day 3

A considerable slow down after the first 12 hours of registration with just five new names added since the last posting.  A total of 29 players are on the list as of this morning, with Am Masters now leading the way with 9 players signed up.

No worries about the slow down though, as we’re still waaaaaaay ahead of any previous pace and there’s still a long way to go before tournament day.

Registration update, day 1

We are up to 24 players on the list as of this post, just 12 hours into registration being open.  To put it in perspective, the 24th person to register last year signed up on February 27.  So we’re almost a month ahead of last year’s pace.

MA1 is leading the way so far with six entrants.  Not really so surprising since MA2 was the biggest division at DDGC15.  Already seeing some of last year’s MA2 participants on the MA1 list for this year.
