Due to the way registration shook out this year, we’re making an adjustment to the Dragon’s Tail Nine final round this year. Instead of the top 9 MPO players qualifying for this nine hole round, it will be the top 6 MPO players and the top 3 FPO.
PDGA guidelines dictate that cut lines have to be at or above the cash line, and technically a final 9 is a cut. With only 12 in MPO at the moment, that means having 9 of them make the DT9 forces us to pay out 75% of the field. Rather than do that, we’ll cut them to 50% of their field and take advantage of our record-breaking FPO field by adding them into the fun for the first time. Our previous high for participation in FPO was four players so we couldn’t really form a full DT9 card without paying more than the top 50% of the field. Now we can do that and we will do that.
There’s more potential news regarding the FPO division, but we’ll save that until details are worked out.
