Two weeks to early registration

We are officially two weeks away from the opening of registration to sponsors.  That means three weeks until registration for all women’s divisions opens and exactly one month until registration opens for all competitors.

Early registration opening on February 15 at 8am is for any division provided the player pays a $20 sponsorship in addition to their entry fee.  This is limited to just 36 total spots, 18 for Saturday and 18 for Sunday.  It will still be first come, first served so if you want to sponsor the event to ensure your spot, be ready to sign up on that Wednesday morning.

Early registration opening on February 22 at 8am is for all women’s divisions.  Regarding women’s divisions, we are presently offering FPO, FA1, FA2, and FA3.  If there is enough interest for age protected divisions (FP40, FA50, etc), we will add any division that has at least 4 competitors.  If you want one of these divisions, SIGN UP for one of the available divisions to ensure your spot then contact us to let us know which division you’d move to if it was added.  If there are four players for a division, we’ll move everyone over to it.

On March 1 at 8am, the doors open for everyone.  Spots will fill on a first-come, first-served basis.  Once we fill, the waitlist will be open.  Players are encouraged to jump on the waitlist if they want to play because there is always a ton of movement in the lead up to the event.

2023 Right Around The Corner

Mark the dates, set your alarms, you don’t want to miss out on the longest-running PDGA event in Maine.

CCDG coverage

This year, our historical (in size) FPO division is getting some extra special attention.  Central Coast Disc Golf, one of the most popular disc golf channels on Youtube, will be sending a crew to cover our pro women.  They will choose one card to cover in round 1, then cover the lead card in round 2 and the DT9.  The only unknown at this point is when the coverage will be posted (it will not be immediate).

This coverage is being made possible by some generous sponsors.  If you’d like to help sponsor the coverage or the event in general, please use the contact page to get in touch.

Dragon’s Tail Nine Changes

Due to the way registration shook out this year, we’re making an adjustment to the Dragon’s Tail Nine final round this year.  Instead of the top 9 MPO players qualifying for this nine hole round, it will be the top 6 MPO players and the top 3 FPO.

PDGA guidelines dictate that cut lines have to be at or above the cash line, and technically a final 9 is a cut.  With only 12 in MPO at the moment, that means having 9 of them make the DT9 forces us to pay out 75% of the field.  Rather than do that, we’ll cut them to 50% of their field and take advantage of our record-breaking FPO field by adding them into the fun for the first time. Our previous high for participation in FPO was four players so we couldn’t really form a full DT9 card without paying more than the top 50% of the field.  Now we can do that and we will do that.

There’s more potential news regarding the FPO division, but we’ll save that until details are worked out.
